Friday Harbor, WA, July 3-5, 2009.
We drove up to La Conner a day early, so that we meet up with Mike
and Diane at the guest dock just as the sun was setting. Then we
went to the local grocery to pick up sandwiches and drinks for dinner
because everything else had already closed. After a late night
dinner, we enjoyed the rocking of the boat when we went to sleep.
The next day was relaxing as well. Fortunately, we had washed the boat
the week before, so all we had to do was provision the boat and take off.
Mike and Diane had spent the night at the guest dock, so they followed
us reluctantly north through the Swinomish Channel.

We stopped at Blakely Island for ice cream. As we ate our ice cream,
we watched people flying and boating into the island.

Once we arrived at Friday Harbor, we met up again with other friendly
IBOATNW folk.

For the trip back to La Connner, we took the slow way back, sometimes
cruising at 12 knots. We were trying to see what it would be like in
a 32' Bayliner.
