Day 7 The morning was spent in the parking lot of KC Cycles “Hogs to Hondas” taking apart the VFR and testing the battery. Everything checked out OK, so it was put back together and eventually ridden home with no incidents. Kevin Cargill of KC Cycles & ATVs was looking at my GTS with great interest and said that it was quite a treat to be able see it. He was very helpful and had a wonderfully restored Triumph Spitfire located in the shop. Finally, we were on our way home. Deadwood had a sign that it was the final resting place of Wild Bill Hickok http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wild_Bill_Hickok. Lunch in Sturgis was at the Knuckle Saloon http://www.theknuckle.com/ where I picked up a t-shirt even though I was 8 weeks too early for Bike Week. Good thing I planned it that way. Route 212 was a gorgeous route and very fast.
Going the speed limit, we were nearly run over by a semi.
The pace picked up after that, but Colleen and Chris/Req still managed to
catch up to us slightly before Broadus.
We had told them earlier in the day that we’d be at the Billings Best
Western, but we didn’t see them in Broadus or |
