Day 8

Billings, MT to Coeur D’Alene, ID

Yesterday, we had found a groove by stopping every 75 miles for a break and then a gas break at 150 miles.  Even though the breaks are more frequent, it helps us ride longer miles since we can stretch our legs and backs. We finally found a Starbucks coffee shop in Missoula and had a refreshing break with a local KLR rider.  Don’t speed in Idaho.  Ask Mary how she knows.

The Heart of the Awl http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coeur_d'Alene_(tribe) had a hot rod car show going on, and the Japan House Suites http://www.japanhousesuites.com/ was the best night’s stay of the whole trip.  The beds are cushy, and breakfast in the outdoor pergola was pleasant.
